During his appointment as an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) in the Middle District of Florida, (1991 to 2017), Barclift prosecuted federal criminal cases in United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida specializing primarily in complex drug and white collar fraud cases. For example, as an AUSA, Barclift prosecuted lawyers for fraud; medical care providers for criminally aggressive prescription writing; and pharmacy owner operators for criminal conspiracy to illegally dispense control substances. As a federal prosecutor, Mr. Barclift worked closely with the Federal Bureau of Investigation; the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration; Immigration and Customs Enforcement; Internal Revenue Service; Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF); U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and the U.S. Department of State – Diplomatic Security, in the investigation and prosecution of various federal crimes.
Barclift now draws on his vast experience as a prosecutor in federal courts representing defendants charged with federal crimes to achieve the best possible results for his clients.
